Top Plants, Trees For Spring Season Landscaping

The warmer spring weather is (hopefully) right around the corner. We are experiencing a cold blast through the Ohio River Valley currently, but we are choosing to remain optimistic; hoping that sunshine and the sound of chirping birds is not far off.

With the warmer weather comes the beginning of planting and landscaping season, and we’re excited to get things started for the 2016 season!

We often present advice and consultation in the landscaping and design process. With this blog post we simply want to present what greenery we have available to incorporate into your design. Knowing what plants and trees are available is an essential step in developing an appropriate design model.

First we have Amsonia. It is not a new plant but one that is getting much greater use for its hardiness and season long interest. It has beautiful spring blooms and brilliant fall color.

Next, we have Daylily, also referred to as the ‘Purple d Oro’. This daylily is a new variety similar to the popular Stella d Oro but with purple blooms. It is truly beautiful and adds needed variety to any flower bed.

A hardy and long blooming option is the Anemone or ‘Preetty Lady Julia’ . This new dwarf form is great for tight spaces. We have options to occupy every nook and cranny of your property.

A very popular plant we feature is the Hydrangea ‘Bobo’. It is a dwarf hydrangea with an incredible flower show. One of the attractive aspects of this plant is that it is very easy to grow and provides a bountiful bloom display.

Brentwood’s tree selection is just as abundant. The Spruce cupressina is a great option. It is a dwarf spruce that is great for screening in tight spaces. Best of all … no pruning.

Rounding out this sample size of Brentwood’s offerings is the Redbud or ‘Pink Heartbreaker’. The Redbud is a weeping form of eastern redbud with cascading pink blooms. The redbud is very popular in the Tri-State for its beauty and versatility. The tree’s blossom’s create a subtle focal point on any property.
